In 2003, HandyGamesTM released Townsmen the first build-up strategy game for mobile phones and established a whole new genre for wireless gaming. Since then, each new part has fascinated more and more gamers over the world.

In Townsmen (1) you had to establish and maintain a flourishing settlement using resources such as wood, stones, fish or iron and cope with randomly generated events like hurricanes.

Townsmen 2, launched in November 2004, extended the basic concept, building a prospering settlement, and introduced terraforming (modifying the soil, e. g swamp into grass), included missions and allowed the building of military bases to defend the town. The innovations made by HandyGamesTM were hailed by the press and the German developer has been awarded with numerous international prizes.

It seemed to be impossible to top such an impressively successful game but first comments and reviews for Townsmen 3 have shown that HandyGamesTM succeeded once again in creating an entertaining and a challenging mobile game.

Townsmen 3 released in November 2005 sends the hard-working Townies to the New World to establish once again a booming settlement.

Now, as a colonist you have to decide if you live on good terms with the indigenous people and become a successful merchant or if you want to suppress your neighbours to be remembered as a scrupulous pirate.

Townsmen 3 introduced a lot of new features like the fast-motion to accelerate the production and the construction of new buildings, has new resources such as sugarcane and rum and a multi-resource production which means that a building can produce various resources yet not at the same time.
